News release from Naked Bus follows.

Naked Bus slashes cost of summer travel across North Island

North Island travellers are set for a major boost as Naked Bus slashes the cost of travel between regional towns and cities.

Very low priced fares for travel on selected routes from Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Napier/Hastings, Palmerston North, Wanganui and Wellington will be on sale for two weeks from 26 January with the cost of most trips less than $10 plus booking fee. Many other locations see savings of between $10 and $20.

These lower fares are available for two weeks, or until they run out, and are for travel dates from 1-28 February 2015.

Hundreds of journeys are available from $1 plus booking fee, with around 1,000 seats a day available at the reduced rates for those travelling to the North Island destinations during February, including Waitangi Day journeys.

Naked Bus CEO Hamish Nuttall said: “During the sale, passengers can, as always, grab starting fares from $1 plus booking fee but with most fares now less than $10 dollars it is great news for travellers making the most of the summer and for students heading to university."

Fares for most seats between Auckland and Hamilton will range from $1 - $9.99, plus booking fee, as will journeys between Auckland and Whangarei, Hamilton and Rotorua, Rotorua and Taupo, Hamilton and Tauranga, Napier/Hastings and Palmerston North, Taupo and Napier/Hastings, Palmerston North and Wellington and Wanganui and Palmerston North.

“It’s also a great opportunity for our regular travellers who commute between regional centres, particularly between Auckland and Hamilton where we have increased our service to run nine trips a day each way. We are committed to reducing the cost of travel around New Zealand and we see this as a way of helping our customers during one of the busiest times of the year. Our overseas customers will benefit as they will be able to travel between some of our North Island hot-spots, enjoy the country and make their holiday budget go further, but as with all special offers, the cheapest prices will go to those who book earliest.”

Naked Bus is a New Zealand owned and operated company providing affordable travel options for customers throughout the country.
