Waiwera Wins in Big Overseas Competition

WAIWERA GROUP LTD MEDIA RELEASE

28 January 2015

Two “Best of Show” Platinum awards, two Gold medals and a silver medal was the haul for Waiwera Group Ltd at the world’s largest beverage competition.

Waiwera CEO Lloyd Brown says, “It was a clean sweep. We won a medal for every single product we entered in the World Beverage Competition. For New Zealand based Waiwera Group this is a huge step forward in boosting the company’s global brand as a internationally recognised producer of fine spirits and world class artesian water.”

With 20,000 entrants in all categories at the World Beverage Competition in Jacksonville, Florida, Waiwera Artesian Sparkling Water and Waiwera “Spiced Gold” Rum were the big winners, gaining Platinum Best of Show awards.

Waiwera Artesian Still Water and Waiwera Spiritual Vodka both won Gold medals and Waiwera Mahurangi Gin picked up a Silver medal.

The competition covers a wide range of beverages including bottled waters and alcohol.

The judging is done by an international panel using a “double blind” tasting method where the judges do not see the packaging or know the brand name of the entrant until after the award is made.
