ANZ KiwiSaver Schemes Awarded Platinum in first-ever SuperRatings Awards

ANZ Investments has welcomed the first report on New Zealand KiwiSaver schemes by independent research agency, SuperRatings.

General Manager ANZ Wealth Products and Marketing Ana-Marie Lockyer said SuperRatings had built a good reputation for its regular ratings reports on Australian superannuation schemes.

The Platinum ratings are awarded by SuperRatings to KiwiSaver schemes that represent the best value for money, taking into account investment returns, investment methodology, fees, administration and advisory services. SuperRatings defines the best “value for money” KiwiSaver schemes as those which offer greater potential to maximise the retirement savings of members.

ANZ Investments received the highest possible Platinum ratings from SuperRatings for all its KiwiSaver schemes - the ANZ KiwiSaver Scheme, ANZ Default KiwiSaver Scheme and the OneAnswer KiwiSaver Scheme.

“The move by SuperRatings into New Zealand provides another source of good independent information to help kiwis understand the relative strength of different KiwiSaver schemes,” said Mrs Lockyer.

“We are proud that all our schemes have been given the highest rating. Choosing the right KiwiSaver provider is one of the most important investment decisions New Zealanders will make.

“It’s important for members to have access to independent information like this so they can make an informed decision. Experience shows that investment performance, after fees, is the key factor in ensuring people meet their retirement savings goals.

“It might not sound like much, but even a 1% difference in investment performance over time can have a big impact on how much money you have when you retire.

“Our analysis shows that a 1% difference in investment performance could impact retirement savings by around $100,000. (Based on a 22-year-old contributing 3% of a $45,000 salary, along with employer contributions of 3%, until they are 65.)
