New CTO appointment signals step change for CodeBlue

New CTO appointment signals step change for CodeBlue

Auckland, New Zealand. 23 February 2015. With year on year growth topping 20 percent, New Zealand IT services company CodeBlue is gearing up for a step change in managed services with the appointment of former Kaseya senior executive Ray Barber to the position of Chief Technology Officer.

A New Zealander, Ray Barber has an international reputation in remote managed services technologies and processes. He was the co-founder of Kaseya’s UK subsidiary in 2003 and was instrumental in Kaseya’s rapid growth throughout Europe and the US, working with early-adopter IT service providers.

CodeBlue’s executive director Ken Davis says that during 2014 CodeBlue consolidated its position as the largest national IT services company serving mid-sized companies of between 20 to 300 seats. A key driver of that growth, he says, is CodeBlue’s ability to deliver ‘big company’ enterprise-strength managed services finely tuned to the needs and budgets of mid-sized companies.

“In this context, Ray Barber’s appointment as our national Chief Technology Officer signals our intention to accelerate the evolution of our managed services. Ray has great depth and breadth of international experience relevant to our business. His appointment is highly strategic to the continued success of our business.”

Ray Barber says the CodeBlue CTO role is a welcome and exciting opportunity to put his international experience to work for a New Zealand-owned company.

“CodeBlue already has a truly world class proactive managed services support capability. The way CodeBlue has developed and integrated tools such as Kaseya and ConnectWise into its own custom-developed service desk software is really world class. So I am very much looking forward to continuing that development.

“But at the end of the day it’s the people, the customer focus, and the outstanding customer references that CodeBlue has that cemented the deal for me.” Ray Barber said.
