FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRESS RELEASE: ZOMATO NEW ZEALAND RESTAURANT SUMMIT 2015

Auckland, New Zealand (February 23rd, 2015): Zomato (www.zomato.com), the world’s fastest-growing restaurant search and discovery app, hosted the New Zealand chapter of their restaurant summit in Auckland on Monday, 23rd February.

The Summit witnessed a gathering of over 200 seasoned restaurant owners, senior marketing professionals, and industry visionaries.

Held at Shed 10, Queens Wharf in the Auckland CBD, the black tie event featured the who’s who from the New Zealand F&B industry, including Shane Yardley, Michael Dearth, Nici Wickes, Geeling Ching, Chris Barron, Nick Honeyman, Ben Grant and a host of other luminaries.

The panel discussion covered a range of topics relevant to the F&B indust ry in New Zealand, including the importance of restaurants having an active web presence, and them being able to offer ’dining experiences’ as opposed to just serving their customers food at restaurants. There were also presentations on the role of technology in dining out, and of past and emerging food trends in the country.

”This being our first restaurant Summit in New Zealand, our objective is to understand the various aspects of the restaurant industry’s growth from the very people who have been driving the industry forward over the years. The opportunity to discuss a wide range of contemporary topics with industry stalwarts was a great one. Today is a special day for everyone involved in bringing Zomato New Zealand to where it is, and we aim to continue offering people the best dining options in the country and beyond” said Kirsty Cardy, Country Manager, Zomato New Zealand.

In his keynote, Pankaj Chaddah, Co-Founder and COO of Zomato, took a look back at the exponential growth Zomato has seen since foraying into international markets in September 2012, and gave everyone a peek into what’s in store for the coming months.

”This is a proud moment for us. We launched Zomato New Zealand 18 months ago and acquired MenuMania – which happened to be our first acquisition – less than a year ago. The experiences we’ve had doing business here have given us the confidence to grow further and more aggressively. We’ve always believed in our product, and are constantly innovating to be increasingly helpful and relevant to our users.

There’s a lot in the pipeline, and we look forward to tasting even more success in New Zealand”, said Pankaj Chaddah (COO and Co-Founder, Zomato).
