Colliers invests in new leader

Colliers International appoints Gareth Fraser as the new head of its Auckland Investment Sales team.

Gareth Fraser is Colliers International’s new director of Investment Sales.

The Investment Sales team specialises in selling and leasing property located on the fringes of the CBD that is owned and targeted by investors, developers, traders and owner-occupiers - including entry level CBD stock.

Charles Cooper, Colliers’ Auckland managing director, says this is an exciting role and Gareth’s team represents one of the biggest growth opportunities for the company in the Auckland market.

“This market achieved over 220 sales last year that were worth $2 million or more. The combined value of those transactions was almost $2 billion, and 2015 is shaping up to be another strong year.

“Gareth has been running our Real Estate Management team nationally for nearly four years and that division experienced its strongest growth for many years under his leadership, so we are very confident about what he will bring to this team.”

Colliers is also expanding its Investment Sales division’s reach into South Auckland where Colliers dominates the industrial market.

Fraser says they will base a five or seven strong team at their Highbrook office to specifically target commercial office sales and leasing opportunities in South Auckland, and the search is underway for a leader to run that team.

“Sales value growth in this sector has been rising continuously. It was up 14.1% last year alone.

“Our investment sales team is a vital link between our retail, industrial, leasing, North Shore and capital markets teams, and this extension into Highbrook will enhance that interaction.

The new team will work closely with Colliers’ existing central, west and north Auckland investment sales.
