SKYCITY Grand Hotel celebrates 10 years of success

SKYCITY Grand Hotel celebrates 10 years of success

This April SKYCITY Auckland Grand Hotel celebrates a decade of success, with the doors first opened on 6 April, 1995. Since opening the hotel has established itself as a firm favourite with guests ranging from rock stars to royalty, as well as discerning travellers who enjoy the five-star luxury service the Grand is famous for.

Over the last ten years the SKYCITY Grand Hotel team has welcomed in more than 1.2 million guests, concierge services have carried 2.5 million bags and housekeeping have made-up over 850,000 rooms.

SKYCITY Auckland General Manager Hotels, Bradley Burnett, has been with SKYCITY Grand Hotel since day one, and says the milestone marks an incredible 10 years in the hotel business.

“We were the first to offer free, unlimited wifi to all our guests, and we continue to innovate with award-winning services and facilities. In the last year our Grand Presidential Suite was named New Zealand’s Leading Hotel Suite in the 2014 World Travel Awards, we won the Best of Expedia VIP Access award for Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) in Asia Pacific, and acknowledged in the 2015 Trip Advisor Traveller’s Choice Awards.”

The Hotel has seen significant upgrades since opening including a full lobby makeover for award-winning Japanese restaurant MASU by Nic Watt and Gusto at The Grand by celebrity chef Sean Connolly. This year the team will complete a refurbishment of all their Premium Luxury Rooms and Executive Suites to ensure the very best guest experience possible.

“SKYCITY Grand Hotel continues to be hotel of choice for those in the know. We have regular guests who have been staying with us since day one, which is a real testament to the Grand Hotel experience. Our guests come first and we pride ourselves on sharing what Auckland, and New Zealand, has to offer.”

“We couldn’t perform at this level without an incredible team. Our Head Concierge, David Tabor, is a member of prestigious international concierge group Les Clefs d’Or, and Dylan Rushbrook, Director of International Sales, received the first Young Tourism Export Council Excellence Award last year,” he says.

SKYCITY Grand Hotel boasts award-winning spa facilities on site with East Day Spa which continues to be a firm favourite with beauty enthusiasts, and premium in-room dining services from Gusto at the Grand.
