McDonald's NZ security of hours announcement

McDonald's NZ security of hours announcement

“McDonald’s NZ has been in discussions as to the structure of our employment contracts for several months. At the same time we entered into the collective bargaining process with our union in good faith. We have now completed a review of the way our contracts are structured. We understand that having security of hours is important to our people, and as such, at our most recent collective bargaining meeting we have presented the following:

All McDonald’s employees will receive 80 percent security of hours up to a 40 hour cap, based on the average of the previous 12 weeks.

We would note that the above structure has previously been common practice when it comes to scheduling in our restaurants, but it will now be formally written into employment agreements.

We will continue to bargain in good faith and hope to reach a mutually acceptable agreement soon.”
