Little Ghost launches first collection, The Kingdom of Hera

Little Ghost launches first collection, The Kingdom of Hera

Auckland, April 2015
: Ladies longing for handcrafted handbags, wallets and accessories packed with sophistication, spice and just the right balance of edgy and nice need look no further. Little Ghost has arrived.

Little Ghost launched today with its first collection of goddess-inspired goodies entitled The Kingdom of Hera. Just like its namesake the collection, featuring four wallets, two clutches and two handbags, is regal, colourful, heavenly and adorned with high quality embellishments.

Little Ghost founder and designer, Amber Bibby, says that the launch of the first collection and the brand itself has been years in the making.

“The story of Little Ghost dates back nearly a decade. I first had the inspiration for the name when I was working in marketing but the actual “what” of what Little Ghost would be wasn’t defined at that stage. After becoming a mum and wanting to channel my creativity, Little Ghost formed into a more concrete idea and I knew that high-quality, handmade accessories that celebrated the goddess in each of us was the “what” I had been looking for,” she says.

Bibby, who has a raft of experience in fashion, beauty, marketing and business, says that the journey to launch has been one full of learning, creativity, experimenting and enjoyment.

“This is my passion – the make up artist in me loves to play with colour – colour that breaks away from what you’d typically see in shops. The fashion designer in me loves fabric, texture and balance. The businesswoman in me has meant that I’ve been able to find the most ethical, likeminded and effective partners to bring this dream to life. I couldn’t be happier or more excited to set Little Ghost out into the world,” she adds.

In terms of what’s contained within the first collection, women can rejoice at a piece that is uniquely Little Ghost – the oversized wallet. The clutch-wallet is available in four guises in The Kingdom of Hera collection and Bibby says it will be brought to life in each subsequent collection with a fresh new look.

Little Ghost’s clutch-wallets have been designed to tick off style, sophistication and most importantly, practicality all in one luxury product. Empress is sophisticated edginess at its best in black leather with gold studs. Luna too, is sophisticated midnight black option for those who prefer classic, simple styling. For those with a slightly softer side, Empress is also available in lilac with silver studs. Juno, a stone and suede number is the third clutch-wallet in The Kingdom of Hera collection and is delicately balanced in grey and black leather/suede.

Measuring 22cm by 12cm the clutch-wallets are almost a third larger than standard sized women’s wallets and by virtue of their size, make for the perfect one-stop partner that can accommodate cell phone, lipstick, and all the traditional wallet bits and pieces with ease. All clutch-wallets are lined with leather on the interior.

The collection’s two handbags are equally striking – Roma with its luxurious blend of leather and fur and Fortress with unique triangle layering detailing. Both can be worn over the shoulder and Roma can transform into a cross body bag thanks to the adjustable strap. Both are made using the finest leather and fastenings.

For ladies in need of an evening mid-sized accessory, The Kingdom of Hera offers two options. Chariot is available in either black or blue moon leather with gold hardware. Both options come with detachable strap and tassel and are the perfect wedding or event partner.

As for what’s in store for the future, Bibby says that her vision is growing by the day. “We’ve got plans for some unique ranges in the coming months,” she says. “Keep an eye out for more goddess-inspired accessories, colours and styles. Now that we’ve got to this point, we’ve got no intention of slowing down and can’t wait for our next collection to be finalised and ready for sale,” she concludes.

The Little Ghost range is available online only at www.littleghost.co.nz and prices range from $159 to $279.Keep a lookout in your favourite boutiques as Little Ghost makes its debut appearance in-store in the coming months.
