Kenwood Wins Prestigious International Forum Design Gold Award

Kenwood, the leading small kitchen appliance expert in New Zealand, has been awarded the prestigious Gold iF (International Forum) Design Award for its latest innovation - the iconic Kenwood CHEF Sense kitchen machine.

The internationally renowned iF Design Awards, running since 1953, represent outstanding design achievements and Kenwood is one of the few British brands to receive this accolade. The Kenwood CHEF Sense was one of almost 5,000 product entries from more than 50 countries in this year’s Design Awards.

This year’s iF Design Awards were judged by 53 renowned experts from 20 countries. There are 1,500 winning entries and within these only 75 Gold titles are awarded.

In its recognition of Kenwood for excellence in design, the iF Design Jury commented on the overall quality and performance of the CHEF Sense kitchen machine.

“Everything about this machine is perfect: it’s sturdy, it’s easy to clean and it delivers very high performance,” said the Design Jury. “Using high-end materials, all these functions have been translated into a very clean and clear design concept that instantly communicates trust, efficiency and high quality.”

New Zealand De’Longhi Group Marketing Manager Davina Gray-Ebbett was thrilled by Kenwood’s performance in the Design Awards this year.

“As the CHEF Sense represents 65 years of evolution of the iconic Kenwood Chef model from the 1950’s, the Gold Award is a particular achievement for Kenwood,” said Gray-Ebbett. “What sets the CHEF Sense apart from its competitors is the focus given to aesthetics and delivering the best user experience possible.”

Kenwood UK’s Industrial Design Team Leader Jamie Weaden said, “Kenwood’s products have won numerous design awards over the decades, but as the iF Gold Award recognises only the very elite of the winners, it’s especially prestigious and an achievement we are very proud of.”

As well as a Gold Award, Kenwood also walked away with a further two iF Design Awards for the Kenwood MultiOne kitchen machine andKenwood Multiport Micro food processor, not currently available in New Zealand, based on their functionality and outstanding design quality.
