Plus4 Insurance Solutions Appoints Peter Standish Group General Manager

Plus4 Insurance Solutions (Plus4), the national insurance broking and financial adviser group, today announced that it has appointed Peter Standish to a newly created role of Group General Manager.

Peter Standish has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector and has held a number of senior roles including, most recently, Head of Personal Insurance with specialist rural insurer FMG (formerly Farmers’ Mutual Group). Prior to joining FMG, he was General Manager Sales with CIGNA International and Business Development Manager with AXA New Zealand. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from the University of Canterbury and a Diploma of Business Studies from Massey University.

Plus4’s Chairman Grant Uridge said, “Peter’s appointment marks the next stage in the evolution of Plus4; it is an investment in the group’s infrastructure as we look to double in size over the next five years.”

As Group General Manager, Peter will be responsible for the development and execution of a strategy to increase the scale of Plus4 in the risk insurance sector.

Established in 2008 in Nelson, Plus4 now has over 30 advisers working from 12 locations between Whangarei and Invercargill. Group members, who have no affiliations to any specific insurance provider, offer unbiased advice tailored to their individual and business clients’ requirements.
They work predominantly with small to medium sized enterprises, their owners and their accountants.

Grant Uridge said, “Peter has a proven track record in managing insurance companies, is passionate about Plus4 and has an exceptional understanding of the industry. The fact that the group has been able to attract someone of Peter’s calibre has been noted in the industry.”
