Award-winning architectural team to stir the imagination in New Zealand

Debbie Ryan and Robert McBride of Melbourne Architectural studio, McBride Charles Ryan will be touring New Zealand as part of the ADNZ International Speaker Series in April/May.

Debbie and Robert are known for their bold, unexpected designs which have won them international acclaim – including the world’s best residential award at the World Architecture Festival Awards in 2009 for the ‘Klein Bottle House’.
The husband and wife team will be offering their perspective on upcoming architectural design trends, as well as discussing influences on their own work.

ADNZ CEO Astrid Andersen says the seminars are an excellent opportunity for the architectural and design community, as well as members of the public with an interest in architecture, to gain valuable insights into the work of the internationally acclaimed pair.

“We are very excited about bringing Robert and Debbie to New Zealand for this ADNZ seminar series. They lead an incredibly talented team, and we hope that our members, along with the wider public, take full advantage of their tour. New Zealand is a country of renovators, builders and designers, and this is a fantastic opportunity to gain inspiration from one of Australia’s top architectural teams.”

Robert and Debbie say the trip will be a great opportunity for them to interact with New Zealand’s vibrant architectural design community.

“New Zealand is going through a significant period of growth in the construction sector, and it’s at times like these that people are actively seeking innovative design solutions. People in the design community are often inspired by external influences, and we expect to benefit from speaking to New Zealanders, as much as we hope to inspire them by sharing our ideas.”
