Two Lippy Ladies Set Up Shop In Hastings

Two Lippy Ladies Set Up Shop In Hastings

A new store has opened its doors in Heretaunga Street East in Hastings this week. The ‘Two Lippy Ladies’ have already taken the online market by storm, but they now want to showcase their unique range of clothes in the flesh to the people of Hawke’s Bay.

Natalie and Karla are the brainchild of this distinctive clothing business. The ladies were fed up with some of the mass marketed, ill-fitting and unflattering dresses available to women so decided to take matters in to their own hands, sourcing clothes to fit and flatter a real woman’s shape and curves.

Fours years on, having tracked down designers around the world who create their range of distinctive dresses and skirts, and having set up their online store - www.twolippyladies.co.nz, they have a well-established and successful business. Their distinctive range of clothes, with a rockabilly vintage feel, have women nationwide vying for a ‘Two Lippy Ladies’ dress and they already have a loyal following.

Not only are the dresses styled to flatter women, they are also made from beautiful, colourful fabrics and cater for most women’s sizes, 8-26, giving all shapes and sizes the chance to enjoy one of these beautifully feminine frocks. An ideal Mother’s Day present perhaps?

Complementing the dresses, Two Lippy Ladies also stock some fabulously fun, locally hand-painted shoes by ‘I am that I am’, as well as cute handbags and quirky jewellery. They stock an ethical range of clothes by Holi Boli that are made in India, whereby local ladies are taught to sew and paid a decent wage to make lovely dresses.

So why Hastings? Natalie and Karla really liked the quirky, up-and-coming east side, with other stores in the area being a good fit for them. Women are coming from far and wide to try on the dresses that they have only been able to ogle online up until now.

The store is open Monday to Friday 10-5 and Saturday 10-3 on Heretaunga Street East, Hastings.
