New dairy mineral blend ticks all the boxes

As mineral deficiencies continue to cost dairy farmers time, money, livestock and lost production, a unique new mineral blend is offering a comprehensive, cost-effective solution.

Developed specifically for New Zealand dairying by BEC Feed Solutions, Main Stay Macro Minerals, delivers key nutritional minerals in a convenient, palatable, accurate and dust-free blend. And, because it incorporates the revolutionary Bolifor Mag 33 and MGP+ Magnesium products, farmers won’t have to worry about pasture dusting again, consequently saving valuable time and labour costs.

Main Stay Macro Minerals is being officially launched by BEC at next month’s Mystery Creek Fieldays, in advance of spring calving peak requirements.

Designed to be added via commercially manufactured feed blends, feed wagons, or through on-farm mineral dispensing units, Main Stay Macro Minerals is available in four different formulations;

Main Stay Original – features Magnesium in the form of Bolifor® Mag33 (vital nutrient to help prevent grass staggers and milk fever), Calcium in the form of Calcium Carbonate (essential nutrient for skeletal growth, nerve and muscle function), and Sodium, provided as salt (essential for animal health and production).

Main Stay + Rumensin® – features the base Main Stay Original minerals, plus Monensin, to encourage increased milk protein production. Also works as an aid in the control of ketosis and in the prevention and control of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis & Eimeria Zuernii, and as an aid in the prevention of bloat.

Main Stay + Phosphorus – features the base Main Stay Original minerals, plus Phosphorus, which is important for skeletal growth and rumen function. Phosphorus supplementation is particularly recommended when high levels of maize silage or fodder beet are fed. Phosphorus is also recommended pre-calving.

Main Stay + Phosphorus + Rumensin® – a fully comprehensive blend, comprising the base Main Stay Original minerals, plus Phosphorus and Monensin.

BEC says these vital minerals help overcome mineral deficiencies associated with low nutritional levels in supplied feed at key times throughout the year.

Main Stay Macro Minerals samples will be on display throughout Fieldays at the BEC stand, located in the Mystery Creek Pavilion, Stand PE28. Fielday visitors will receive a free quick-reference dosage rate guide, making on-farm calculations even easier and accurate.
