Opus finalist for Gold Award

Opus finalist for Gold Award

Opus International Consultants (Opus) has been confirmed as an ACC Workplace Safety Award finalist for their health and safety practices and programmes at the Wellington Gold Awards. The finalists were announced on Thursday 28 May.

“We are delighted to be a finalist in the Gold Awards in recognition of our health and safety programme,” said Opus Managing Director and Chief Executive, Dr David Prentice. “We realise that there is no quick fix when it comes to managing health and safety, and therefore our approach is all-encompassing as we continually strive to reach our goal of zero harm.”
Opus’ strong health and safety culture has led to increased staff health and safety involvement in the company, increased incident reporting and knowledge of best practice across the business and also reduced ACC premiums.
“We are serious about safety and ensuring that no one is injured in the course of their work,” said Dr Prentice. “We actively promote a comprehensive health and safety programme and value our positive safety culture. This nomination not only recognised our safety performance indicators, but also the way in which our staff and managers actively participate and engage in health and safety matters.”

Established to celebrate business in the Wellington Region, the Gold Awards have been held annually since 1999. The winners are to be announced on Thursday 9 July.
