James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor Named Wellington Gold Awards Finalist

James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor was last night named a finalist in the 2015 Wellington Gold Awards, under the Green Gold category.

The Wellington Gold Awards, which have been held each year since 1999, celebrates the excellence and enterprise of business in the Wellington Region. The Green Gold category pays special tribute to those businesses with positive sustainability practices.

Steve Martin, General Manager of James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, comments, “We are delighted to be considered in this category again, which recognises the hard work the team have put in to enhance our environmental, economic and social sustainability initiatives. We are honoured to share this category with some excellent Wellington organisations.”

This is the second time the hotel has been recognised by the Wellington Gold Awards for its sustainability initiatives, as the hotel was also named a finalist in the Gold Green category of the 2013 awards.

The award winner will be announced at the annual awards ceremony held at TSB Bank Arena on Thursday the 9th July.

Grand Hotels International owns and manages ten 4 – 4 ½ star Hotel Grand Chancellor properties throughout Australia and New Zealand. All Hotels are in prime locations with a range of facilities offering accommodation for the most discerning guest as well as a host of conference and events facilities on a small to large scale, with five venues catering for over 400 people.
