Rural Business Network Hub launches in Northland

Rural Business Network Hub launches in Northland

Rural business professionals in Northland will have an opportunity to develop their businesses and strengthen their networks with the launch of the Northland Rural Business Network Hub on June 16. Whangarei will host the inaugural event on Tuesday June 16 at the Whangarei Barge Showgrounds Events Centre.

The Rural Business Network provides an opportunity for rural-based business people to participate in events that will help them grow their business through networking and learning from others. RBN aims to connect innovative, motivated people from across the range of primary industry sectors with successful, experienced businessmen and women creating opportunities to share ideas, be inspired and learn by example.

The Northland Rural Business Network Hub will be the 7th Hub throughout the country. RBN is free to join, however, there is usually a charge to attend each Hub’s quarterly get-togethers and events.

The first Northland RBN event will feature guest speaker Dr Jacqueline Rowarth, Professor of Agribusiness at Waikato University. Ms Rowarth obtained an Agricultural Science degree with honours in Environmental Agricultural Science and has a PhD in Soil Science from Massey University. She is a Companion of the Royal Society of New Zealand, a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Agricultural Science, and in 2008 she was awarded Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Agricultural Science. Dr Rowarth will be hosting an interactive discussion based on “Water – Quality and Quantity” a hot topic for farmers across the country.

The RBN Northland event will be held at the Whangarei Barge Showgrounds Events Centre, Whangarei on 16 June at 6.45pm. Further information and tickets are available on the Rural Business Network’s website – www.ruralbusinessnetwork.co.nz
