Pukekohe sections snapped up by eager buyers

There’s one last chance for property buyers to grab a slice of a red-hot Pukekohe development, as the final sections go on sale this weekend.

Developer Legacy Property started selling sections within the new Belmont subdivision in Pukekohe to the public last weekend, giving home buyers the chance to own a slice of land in Auckland’s south-west.

Company director, Gary Gordon, says demand for sections exceeded expectations with only 98 housing lots of the 325-site subdivision remaining since going on the market five days ago. The company is hoping to sell the last remaining sections this weekend, when stage four of the development opens to the public.

Prices range from $219,000 for a 200sq m site to $295,000 for a 400sq m lot. Gary says the smaller sites mainly appeal to first-home buyers, while the larger sites tend to go to builders and construction companies.

“The sales over the weekend were certainly higher than we expected,” says Gary. “Each day we had around 200 people on site, couples with their parents, families, builders, taking a look at the area, and purchasing lots.”

The company’s 325 sites sit within the larger 72ha Belmont precinct which lies on the western side of Pukekohe, bordered by Pollock Rd and McNally Rd to the south, Maxwell Rd and Adams Rd to the west. Kauri Rd runs along the northern edge of the land.

Due to the government designating Belmont as a Special Housing Area, 10 percent of the subdivision has to be made available for affordable homes. As well, all homes need to be a minimum of a 6 Homestar rating.

A primary school, shopping centre and recreational facilities are also planned for the precinct, along with a large public reserve and conservation areas.

“This development appeals to a lot of people for many reasons,” says Gary. “It offers affordability and a quality lifestyle with a range of amenities designed to create a sense of community for families. Pukekohe has the best of both worlds with its charming rural setting, a thriving town centre and access to public transport to Auckland and surrounding areas.”

The public launch of stage four will be at 188 Jutland Road, Pukekohe from 10am-1pm on Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July.
