Thrifty finalist in the 2015 TVNZ Marketing Awards

Thrifty finalist in the 2015 TVNZ Marketing Awards

Thrifty Car Rental have been announced as a finalist in the 2015 TVNZ Marketing Awards.

The entry for the AA Thrifty ‘The Price You See Is The Price You Pay’ Car Rental Campaign made the first round of judging and has been announced as a finalist in at least two categories. The awards showcase the best marketing initiatives and marketing projects in New Zealand. Winners will be announced 27 August 2015.

Thrifty Car Rental and the NZ Automobile Association (AA) have a strategic partnership. As their exclusive rental car partner, Thrifty offers AA Members exclusive benefits when hiring cars in New Zealand. Based on research, Thrifty found that AA Members held common customer frustrations around hidden costs, credit card fees, high insurance excesses, off-airport locations and fees and a perception around a lack of transparency in the rental car industry. ‘The Price You See Is The Price You Pay’ campaign came out of this research.

“The car rental industry in New Zealand is highly commoditised and extremely competitive,” says Emma Gardiner, General Manager, Thrifty Car Rental New Zealand. “We listened to customers’ frustrations. Offering an all-inclusive year-round ‘no hidden fees’ rental car package that saves time and money and is an easy option for our customers has been well received. The AA campaign and partnership has played a pivotal role in growing our business in New Zealand,” said Ms Gardiner.

Winners will be announced at an awards evening on Thursday 27 August at The Langham, Auckland.
