Spark launches Huawei P8 in-store and online today

Spark announced today that the new Huawei P8 is now available in-store and online at www.spark.co.nz, and the first 1000 customers who sign up to a $59 Open Term plan with interest free repayments will get the phone for under $25 per month, an effective $200 discount.

The Huawei P8 continues the minimalist design of previous generations in the P series, combining elegance and craftsmanship with cutting edge technology. The P8 packs a range of premium features into its all-metal 6.4mm unibody design: A revolutionary four-colour camera with optical image stabilisation and DSLR-level image processor, a 2,680mAh battery to get even power users through a full day of use, and a 5.2-inch class-leading Gorilla glass screen.

Dean Pointon, Head of Devices at Spark Home, Mobile, and Business welcomed the launch saying that the P8 underlines Huawei’s moves toward the premium end of the market.

“The P8 is a stunning device. Its slim, all-metal design and revolutionary camera have been combined with leading innovation, bringing new features like Rich Touch, which performs different actions depending on what part of the hand is used on the screen, and the ability find the phone using only your voice when you misplace it.

“It really shows that Huawei is a serious player in the premium smartphone market,” Pointon said.

Huawei is so confident of the P8’s strength and reliability that it is also offering free screen repair for accidental damage for the first 12 months.*

Spark is offering the P8 for $799 RRP, and will be available on the $39 Open Term plan with interest free repayments at that price. New and existing customers on the $59 Open Term plan or above (excluding 24 month plans) can get the P8 for repayments of less than $25 per month, meaning an effective RRP of $599, or a $200 discount.

Business customers on the Business $55 Open Term Plans and above (excluding 24 month plans) will also be eligible for discounted repayment rate, and businesses on the $90 24-month plan can get the P8 for $0 up front.
