Instore Digital Solutions Launch in Time for Summer

The latest in digital instore display technology will be reaching New Zealand’s retailers in time for Summer 2016.

The New Zealand technology company TranSign Media is offering the latest in transparent LCD displays for digital signage display, producing custom-made transparent displays and the digital content that plays on them.

TranSign Media’s Robert Brown said high street brands are looking for new ways to promote products and redesign a customer’s experience to build stronger in-store connections.

“The transparent LCD screen enables customers to view products through the screen, while at the same time, see dynamic high definition content on the screen, which engages and inspires purchase decisions,” he said.

“This technology gives brands the power to tell a story and showcase products in the same space. We’re currently developing a new fridge door for convenience stores and supermarkets which will allow brands to store chilled products and display dynamic digital content at the same time.”

The transparent displays can range in size from 10 to 84 inches and can be designed with touch-screen capability, making the technology extremely versatile.

“The introduction of touch-screen activation is the next step. This improves the experience by allowing customers to find out additional product information, at the touch of a screen, just like they would on their tablet at home,” he said.

The goal behind the technology, Mr Brown said, is to increase shopper engagement, keeping them in stores longer and leading to more sales.

“While in-store customer experience solutions are evolved in markets such as Europe, Asia and the USA, this technology is new to New Zealand.”

“We see opportunity with the growth of retail outlets, especially around Auckland and Christchurch, as brands look for new ways to create deeper in-store experiences for their customers.”
