The August mid-Canterbury RBN event will feature guest speaker, the Honourable Ruth Richardson. The event will be focused on the topic “The sustainability of the Agri-Sector models”. In previous times she has sat on the Wrightson Ltd board of directors and was the Chairman of Dairy Brands Ltd board.

Ruth will discuss her viewpoint on the course of New Zealand agriculture; what New Zealand’s future would look like if the sector shifted focus from the traditional essentials business (i.e. commodities) to being in the premiums business. Ruth believes to move up the value chain Kiwi’s must make a structural shift in the typical co-op business model currently employed in the agriculture sector.
