Simpson Grierson wins at the Diversity Awards NZ 2015

Simpson Grierson won the Positive Inclusion Award at the prestigious Diversity Awards at a ceremony held in Auckland last night. The awards are presented by the Equal Employment Opportunities Trust.

Simpson Grierson won the Positive Inclusion Award, for the work the firm has done developing its Pride Network over the last year.

Heather Ash, partner and head of the Simpson Grierson Diversity Committee says:

"It is important to us that our firm represents 21st century society. Clients really care about diversity and it has been amazing to work with them to build this community of supporters for rainbow diversity."

HR Director Jo Copeland says:

"The EEO Awards are a celebration of what is possible. There were some truly inspiring stories on the night. Our goal has always been to help change the perception of the legal profession so that young lawyers don't feel that coming out will ruin their careers. Awards like this really help to get the message out there. I couldn't be prouder of the firm for supporting our fabulous Pride Network."

The EEO Trust is a not-for-profit organisation tasked with providing EEO information and tools to employers and raising awareness of diversity issues in New Zealand workplaces. More information can be found on its website - www.eeotrust.org.nz
