National Master Plumbers Association’s Conference

Auckland-based BT Plumbing and Gas Ltd featured at the National Master Plumbers Association’s Conference

After two terms as the National President of the National Master Plumbers’ Association, Bruce Trenwith of BT Plumbing and Gas Ltd, has stepped down and presented the chains of office to Martin De Gouw.

Hosted at the stunning Trinity Wharf in Tauranga the New Zealand Master Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers 2015 Conference welcomed all members, business partners, product representatives and visiting tradespeople during a showcase three day event.

The conference culminated in The New Zealand Plumbing Awards which are a celebration of the industry’s people, products and projects.

BT Plumbing and Gas Ltd plumber Ben Shoesmith received recognition as a finalist for the prestigious James Douglas Medallion for Plumbing.

The James Douglas Medallion recognizes an outstanding apprentice who demonstrates hard work, commitment and determination in the industry.

The award has been presented since 1948 to the previous year's outstanding apprentice, who has achieved National Certificate qualification and succeeded in the registration exams.

In recent times the award has been expanded, with three finalist prizes presented for Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drainlaying.

BT Plumbing and Gas Ltd noted that Ben showed enthusiasm and professionalism in all the high-quality work he undertakes. Reliable and dependable, he works well in a team and is respectful of fellow staff. Ben has been a mentor to other apprentices, helping train them to a very high standard.

Apprentices from all over New Zealand entered this award so becoming a finalist in such a high quality pool of contestants is a wonderful achievement.
