ARANZ Medical a Champion Canterbury winner

CHRISTCHURCH, NZ., 17 September, 2015 – ARANZ Medical has been named a Champion Producer/ Manufacturer category winner (medium to large enterprise) in the 2015 Champion Canterbury Business Awards.

ARANZ Medical (www.aranzmedical.com) designs and manufactures 3D scanning and information systems that transform clinical processes in skin assessment to improve health outcomes in wound care and orthotics/ prosthetics.

ARANZ Medical CEO Dr Bruce Davey says, “This award caps off a very successful year for our team. We’re extremely proud to be a high value manufacturer headquartered in Canterbury with a fast growing global client base.”

ARANZ Medical's state-of-the-art technology includes FastSCAN, a second-generation 3D system supporting the custom-fitting of orthoses and prosthetics and other medical applications; and Silhouette, an FDA-approved advanced wound surveillance system which gathers accurate information to track wounds as they are healing.

The company’s technology is being used in over 30 countries in a range of settings, from the largest healthcare providers in the US, to clinical researchers in rural Africa studying the Buruli ulcer, one of the most neglected tropical diseases.

Dr Davey says ARANZ Medical is seeing strong demand for their technology from both clinicians and researchers in response to the increasing prevalence of wounds associated with chronic illnesses like diabetes, and an ageing population.

The emergence of telehealth is also fuelling demand,” says Dr Davey. He acknowledged contributions by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and Callaghan Innovation to the company’s success.

“The innovation Canterbury is renowned for really shines through in our winners. Whether it’s developing world beating products, adapting business models for our ever changing operating environment or creating and implementing innovative marketing strategies, the Awards has been a showcase for business innovation in all its forms,” said Leeann Watson, Director of Champion Canterbury Limited and the General Manager of the Canterbury Employers’ Chamber of Commerce.

Winners for this year’s Champion Canterbury Awards, which recognise and celebrate excellence, passion and success in Canterbury businesses, were announced at an Awards ceremony at Horncastle Arena last night.
