MEDIA RELEASE

New board elected at Chamber AGM

Kapiti Coast, Friday 30th October – Kapiti Coast Chamber of Commerce (KCCC) members elected their new board at Wednesday’s annual AGM.

The new board stands as Chair, Liz Koh (current, re-elected); Deputy Chair, Bernard Parker (new); Treasurer, Ian Fenwick (current, re-elected); and Secretary, Sheryl Earnshaw (current, re-elected), all elected were unopposed.

Standing down from the Board included John Yeoman, Mark Brosnahan and long-standing member and previous Chair Mark Ternent.

“The Chamber relies heavily on voluntary input and we sincerely thank our retiring members. Mark Ternent has made an outstanding contribution; having served on the Board for eight years in total including two years as Deputy Chair, during which time he was instrumental in a significant growth in membership, followed by four years as Chair. Mark put the Chamber onto a solid foundation which has enabled us to develop further,” says Liz Koh, Kapiti Coast Chamber of Commerce Chair.

The newly elected board now welcomes Bernard Parker, owner and principal of the Quinovic Property Management Kapiti-Mana franchise, who brings forward a wealth of management, business and community experience.

“The Kapiti Coast Chamber of Commerce is a progressive team who have made a huge contribution to the community over recent years. Business and employment growth are vital to the economic health of our region, and the Kapiti Chamber is a major contributor to that growth. I look forward to playing my part in helping to grow opportunities for businesses to work together for mutual gains and for the benefit of the whole community.”

The four elected members will meet in the following week to agree the co-opted members for the year ahead.
