MTA names NZ's Most Improved Small Business

MTA (Motor Trade Association) is delighted to have been named New Zealand’s Most Improved Small Business in the IBM Kenexa 2015 Best Workplace awards.

MTA employs 42 staff who provide support, resources and advice to its 4,000 members in collision, general repair, car dealerships, service stations and other motor trade businesses around the country.

Chief Executive Warwick Quinn said the award reflects the fresh more member-focused approach taken by MTA over the past year.

“This award shows us just how much we have accomplished in the past year and it inspires us to remain focused and keep making improvements. We have been working on some very interesting projects and initiatives and I think everyone is getting a lot of satisfaction from this work.

“Most importantly, this award is a credit to the team – it reflects their attitude, passion and accomplishments.”

The survey, which the award is based on, was responded to by 80 percent of staff. It questioned their views on everything from communications, learning and development opportunities, their confidence in leadership through to reward and recognition.

Human Resources Manager Kerryn Foote said “Feedback within the survey told us our staff enjoy the people they work with and feel there is a positive, supportive environment around them. There were also suggestions for improvement, including buying a new coffee machine, and these are being considered.”
