InfoTrack goes it alone on VOI

InfoTrack goes it alone on VOI

November 2015. With updated VOI standards applying to all paper instruments in Victoria and to all mortgages in New South Wales coming into effect on 9 November, InfoTrack has integrated the IDfy iOS application into its seamless online platform, to create a secure, consistent and client-friendly system for identifying property purchasers, making it the first search provider to do so without partnering with a third party.

In a determined bid to reduce identity fraud and threat, most States and Territories have initiated stricter regulations requiring lawyers, conveyancers and mortgagees to verify a party participating in a conveyancing transaction. This process generally involves conducting face-to-face interviews, the viewing and storing of copies of current, original identification documents and confirming that the party bears a reasonable likeness to the photos in their identification documents.

Seamlessly integrated into the InfoTrack online platform, the IDfy app allows those who have integrated InfoTrack into their practice management systems to capture search costs automatically and save time on rekeying data. It eliminates the need for scanning photocopying and physical filing and maintains face-to-face contact with a client throughout the VOI process, creating a more secure and personable interaction.

“It’s a mobile app that you can use on your iPhone anytime, anywhere,” says InfoTrack chief executive John Ahern.

“It’s an intuitive system that understands category requirements and guides users through simple steps to ensure a standardised and compliant VOI process. Without doubt it is the easiest and most convenient way to verify a client securely and you don’t even have to leave the office.

“Importantly, client sensitive information is never stored locally on a device. All data is encrypted and only visible after logging in to IDfy. After a report is ordered, sensitive data is removed from the application and stored on certified secure servers.

“Mitigating identity theft is an important issue in our business and at InfoTrack we are delighted to be the first search provider to go it alone,” Mr Ahern concluded.
