By YHA New Zealand

Taupo – YHA New Zealand welcomes Finlay Jack’s to its network of 45 of New Zealand’s best backpacker hostels.

YHA Chief Executive, Mark Wells, is delighted at the development. He says, “Partnership relationships such as this enable YHA to maintain a strong brand presence in key destinations across New Zealand. We are particularly pleased to welcome Finlay Jack’s into the network – it is a great hostel reflecting not only YHA’s quality standards, but also our values.”

Hostel manager, Finlay Smith, has been a Taupo local since he was ten when he moved to Taupo from Reporoa. Finlay has been running the hostel since August 2015 with a small and dynamic team. Finlay believes Taupo is the perfect location and he enjoys passing on his local knowledge to guests. Finlay says, “Taupo has a fantastic tourism industry with awesome activities. There’s always something going on and the people are friendly and chilled out. For me, Taupo is definitely home.”

Guests staying at YHA Taupo can enjoy the updated and refurbished hostel with a range of shared and private rooms, full kitchen amenities and lounge, sunny garden and spacious balcony with mountain and lake views.

Finlay Smith is thrilled to now be a part of the YHA New Zealand hostel network which also adds him to the worldwide club of over 4,000 youth hostels spanning 80 countries. He says, “I look forward to taking on a global brand and seeing what it has to offer.”
