From Woods to Words – Bay business scoops top English Award

From Woods to Words – Bay business scoops top English Award

For the second consecutive year, Tauranga’s Woods the Creative Agency has taken out the website category at the New Zealand Writemark Plain English Awards. Woods beat fellow finalists ANZ and St. Mary’s Early Childhood Education Centre to claim the title in Wellington on Thursday night.

The Awards, which are in their 10th year, celebrate examples of clear and effective communication across a range of platforms. For the second year running Woods’ winning website entry was for a Bay-based business – this time in the form of fruit exporters Enzed Exotics. Judges commented, “This is a standout website. It makes a seemingly ugly fruit simply beautiful…It’s clean, direct, and fresh – a good reflection of the product and the company.”

Following hot on the heels of their success, Woods will be launching the Bay’s only dedicated writing agency in December. Their new venture will be known as Words – the Writing Agency and offer a range of writing services in technical, creative and online areas.

For Director, Reuben Woods, this natural progression into the writing space reflects the emphasis his company has always placed on words. “The way we access information may be changing, but that doesn’t change the fact that content will always be king. In fact, the need for clear, focused communication is greater than ever.”
