Bell Gully wins Large Law Firm of Year at the New Zealand Law Awards

Friday 20 November 2015

Last night Bell Gully won the top award at the prestigious New Zealand Law Awards – Large Law Firm of the Year.

“We are thrilled. This award reflects the hard work and dedication of many people across the board, within Bell Gully and our clients for whom we are very fortunate to work,” Chairman Chris Gordon said.

Deals the firm worked on won three awards. The sale of Harvard Management’s interest in the Kaingaroa Forest estate was named M&A Deal of the Year, while a complex capital reduction and distribution in specie by our client Millennium & Copthorne Hotels New Zealand was awarded both Capital Markets Deal of the Year and International Deal of the Year.

“Whilst these awards recognise the high profile transactions, our continued success relies as much on the work done out of the limelight as it does on the work done in it,” Chris said.

The firm would like to congratulate all of our clients who picked up awards on the night, including: Craig Mulholland from ANZ, who won In-house Lawyer of the Year, the legal team at Auckland Council, which won In-house Team of the Year, and ASB, which won Banking and Finance In-house Team of the Year. Our congratulations also go to AIG which received Insurance In-house Team of the Year.
