Kamo Home and Village wins Bronze Award

Kamo Home and Village wins Bronze Award in New Zealand’s most prestigious Business Excellence awards

The New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation will present a Bronze award to Kamo Home and Village rest home at the annual gala luncheon on Wednesday 25 November.

The New Zealand Business Excellence Awards are fully aligned to the internationally respected and calibrated Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence.

Foundation Chief Executive Fiona Gavriel says, “We sincerely congratulate this year’s Award winner on successfully completing the rigorous and demanding evaluation process to achieve this world-class accolade – the achievement of which reflects an abiding focus on excellence in a challenging operating environment.”

In receiving this Award, Kamo Home and Village becomes the first aged care provider to be recognised with an award since the New Zealand Business Excellence Awards commenced in 1993.

Brett Marsh, Business Excellence Foundation Chairman and General Manager of Gold Award-winner Spectrum Care, says:

“Providers within the New Zealand health sector have begun to take a leadership role in the Business Excellence community and, in the process, started role-modelling their commitment to the communities they support.

“Kamo Home and Village has demonstrated just such an abiding commitment to the people they support and to organisational excellence, and New Zealand is well-served by their presence in the community, their leadership and the example they set for their peers.

Wintec recognised for ‘Commitment to Business Excellence’

The New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation will also present a ‘Recognition of Commitment to Business Excellence’ at its annual gala luncheon on Wednesday 25 November.

Wintec is one of New Zealand’s largest institutes of technology, and a leading provider of high-quality vocational and professional education in the Waikato region and overseas.

Wintec Chief Executive Mark Flowers said, “We pride ourselves on being a leading institute of technology, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

“We’d been on a quality excellence journey for many years and, after receiving the New Zealand Business Achievement Award in 2012, we felt the time was right to have our quality processes and systems checked against international standards of world-class performance.

“The application and evaluation process for Business Excellence was hard work, but an extremely rewarding experience for all Wintec staff involved. On receiving this recognition, it has confirmed to us we’re on the right track and, most importantly, informed us of where we can make further improvements.

“We’re proud to be recognised for our commitment to Business Excellence.”
