NZME Announces Content Collaboration with multiple National Sporting Organisations
27 November 2015 - New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) has signed with a collective of eight National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) to be a media content provider, dedicated to delivering the most rich and engaging sport content available in New Zealand.
For the first time, a group of NSOs - Athletics New Zealand, Basketball New Zealand, Bowls New Zealand, Golf NZ, Hockey NZ, New Zealand Tennis, Triathlon New Zealand and Yachting New Zealand - have collectively partnered with a media provider to collaborate in the development of content across events, athletes and special initiatives.
NZME group revenue director, Laura Maxwell, says NZME has a team dedicated to this innovative partnership, charged with bringing more sport content to New Zealanders, particularly via NZME’s digital platforms.
“NZME is committed to sport in New Zealand and to providing greater exposure for the NSOs committed to the partnership. This exciting collaboration will deliver quality content when, where and how Kiwis wish to consume it in order to inspire engagement and participation in sport. NZME already delivers one of New Zealand’s largest unduplicated sport platforms, including on nzherald.co.nz and radiosport.co.nz, and this partnership is set to strengthen our content offering while also exposing unique stories via our non-sport channels.”
Sport New Zealand Chief Executive Peter Miskimmin says "New Zealanders love sport and having access to great sport content is likely to inspire more people to get involved, especially kids. As the leader of our sport system, we are thrilled to have helped these sports form this ground-breaking partnership with NZME. These NSOs are being proactive in their pursuit of growing awareness, audiences and participation in their sport, so gaining exposure across NZME’s platforms is a win for everyone involved.”
NZME will continue to provide news coverage of all key sports, teams and athletes in New Zealand across its radio, print and digital platforms.
