ViFX and Birst partner to bring cutting-edge BI to New Zealand

Auckland, New Zealand, 30 November 2015

As Silicon Valley continues to make leaps and bounds in Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Analytics, we are slow to see any major changes here in New Zealand. The world of BI is changing with cloud-based architectures and new ways of thinking. There is however, concern that New Zealand organisations are unsure of the way forward, and so for now have chosen to stick with old, monolithic means of delivering BI to their organisations.

With the explosion of data, organisations are challenged to provide governance over centralised enterprise data, while still offering agility and self-service to business end users, and doing this in a way that makes sure the integrity of the data remains intact.

Birst, a provider of cloud business intelligence, offers a SaaS application where the very nature of the underlying architecture allows for features and benefits not seen in legacy solutions. Using Birst’s virtual BI, IT can now share centralised data with de-centralised business units and empower them to add, combine and compare this data with their own. Essentially, this delivers trusted data to executives along with agility and flexibility to business users.

Birst has been named the winner of the Big Data and Analytics category at the Enterprise Innovation Awards 2015. These awards were established to identify companies in the Asia Pacific market that are at the top of their game, and key innovators in their use of technology.

Jay Larson, Birst chief executive officer, says “Our commitment is to lead the analytics industry in innovation through a networked approach to business intelligence that delivers the strongest value possible to our customers. To be able to break the siloes and create a unified view of data across the entire value chain of an organisation means that we are delivering true business value.”

Geoff Olliff, ViFX director and co-founder, says “We see that access to sophisticated enterprise-grade analytics via a range of cloud delivery mechanisms is a potential game changer for many businesses, and we are pleased to partner with Birst and bring such a leading analytics platform to New Zealand.”
