Two Brothers From Tauranga Want To Help Kiwis Fly
1st December 2015: Tauranga-based online start-up “luggage.co.nz” claims to reach No.1 position in New Zealand after only 8 months in business. The website received over 65,000 hits this November and offers around 1,500 suitcases and travel products.
Guy Hall (33) and
Elliot Hall (30) launched their website https://www.luggage.co.nz in
May 2015 and managed to convince top luggage brands such as
Samsonite, Jansport, Delsey, Voyager or Trunki to supply the
young business with products
early on.
The booming internet allowed them to establish their new business quickly, but the success did not happen overnight.
The two brothers made the decision to start their company Everme Limited way back in 2012 after getting inspired during an online retail conference. Since then they have experimented with different product ranges, numerous web technologies and they tested hundreds of online marketing measures. “It took us a while to find that magic sauce and the last three years weren’t easy, especially after burning through our personal savings and listening to the wrong advice in the early days,” says Guy Hall.
Today the luggage.co.nz team has a focus on customer service and in making online luggage shopping as hassle-free as possible with free 1-3 day delivery NZ-wide and a 100 day returns policy. The mission statement on the company’s Facebook page reads ““We start the magic of your journey... by changing the world of luggage for the better.”
Elliot Hall adds: “To get where we are today, we had to make endless mistakes on the way.
But we try to celebrate mistakes as learnings in order to continuously improve.”
The company employs 6 staff and has recently managed to convince Bjorn Behrendt to join their advisory board, who previously founded Australia’s largest online shoe store and petsitting marketplace.
