Cigna announces new Wellbeing Ambassador

Cigna announces new Wellbeing Ambassador

WELLINGTON – January 22, 2016

Cigna New Zealand announced today its first Wellbeing Ambassador. Wellbeing columnist and blogger, Rachel Grunwell has been selected for the role. Rachel is also director of wellbeing website inspiredhealth.co.nz, a marathon runner, yoga teacher, an Ambassador for the Achilles charity - and a busy Mum of three young boys. As Cigna Wellbeing Ambassador, Rachel will be providing tips and inspiration on fitness, nutrition and wellbeing via videos, blogs and Q&A sessions on social media.

Cigna research* has found that while 81% of Kiwis agree that exercising on a regular basis greatly impacts their own physical health and wellbeing, only a quarter think that they perform well in this area. This is combined with 72% of Kiwis believing that they have an unhealthy weight, and 69% wanting to eat a more well-balanced diet.

Cigna NZ CEO, Lance Walker says that these figures show that Kiwis clearly want to improve their fitness and nutrition, but something is holding them back. “Cigna wants to support Kiwis with their desire to improve their wellbeing by providing tools to help us all live well and stay well. We see the Cigna Wellbeing Ambassador as being a great way to provide some inspiration and motivation for people wanting to get started or move further along on their wellbeing journey.”

“We’re really pleased to have formed this partnership with Rachel,” says Lance. “Rachel’s wellbeing expertise is a great match with Cigna’s aim to empower Kiwis to live well and stay well, physically, emotionally and financially.”
