KCE distributes $8.3k in latest Heartland funding round

Electricity retailer King Country Energy (KCE) has announced that nine King Country community groups have received funding in the latest KCE Heartland funding round.

The nine successful groups applied for KCE Heartland funding in November 2015 and have recently received grants ranging from $300 to $1,500.

KCE community relations manager Helen Peacock said a total of $8,343 was distributed amongst the latest recipients; the largest sum distributed via the fund since it was established in 2014.

“Heartland funding rounds take place annually in March, July and November. During 2015 we distributed a grand total of $19,684 to 22 community groups via KCE’s Heartland fund.”

All successful Heartland recipients undertake projects that align with Heartland’s core values of keeping the community safe, healthy, beautiful and connected.

“In most cases we have provided partial funding. Rather than a hand-out, this funding is a hand-up, getting community groups closer to their total funding goals,” she said.

“It’s our privilege to support groups that do such incredible work in our local communities,” Mrs Peacock said.

$38,348 has been distributed to King Country community groups since KCE launched its Heartland Community Fund in March 2014.

More information about the KCE Heartland Community Fund can be found on KCE’s website or the KCE Heartland Community Fund Facebook page. The next funding round opens on 1 March and closes 31 March.
