Grease Live was a big hit with New Zealand audiences on Friday night. The one-off special, which was based on the original 1971 musical and featured Julianne Hough as ‘Sandy’ and Vanessa Hudgens as iconic bad girl ‘Rizzo’, attracted a 8.0 rating and a 24.7 per cent share in 24 to 54 and won the slot in four key trading demographics.
Also on Friday, Newshub Live at 6pm won in the 25-54, 18-39 and 18-49 demographics and Newshub Late won the slot in 25-54.
Sunday TV3 won Sunday night in 18-49 and 25-54. Newshub Live at 6pm won its slot in 18-39 and 18-49 with a rating of 5 and a 4.9 rating of 23.2 share in 18-49.
Taken 2 won in18-49 and 25-54 with 7.4 rating and a 23.4 share in 25-54. House Rules won in 25-54 with a 6.5 rating and 20.5 share in 25-54.
Year on year for the same week, all Newshub programmes are rating higher in the 25-54 demographic. In the Auckland market (25-54) Newshub Live at 6pm won the week, also winning in 18-39 and equal in 18-49
