Senior appointments at ANZ Bank New Zealand

More changes have been made to the senior leadership of ANZ Bank New Zealand, CEO David Hisco said today.

ANZ’s New Zealand Institutional Managing Director David Green and Commercial & Agri Managing Director Graham Turley have been promoted to overseas roles within the bank. Mr Green will become the CEO of ANZ Singapore and Head of South East Asia and India based in Singapore and Mr Turley the Managing Director of Institutional Banking for the Australia division based in Sydney.


Mr Hisco said the bank’s Head of Institutional Relationships, Paul Goodwin, would become Managing Director Institutional and the General Manager of Commercial & Agri Auckland and Northland, Mark Hiddleston, the Managing Director Commercial & Agri.

“David Green and Graham Turley have made great contributions to the New Zealand business,” Mr Hisco said.

“David has ensured that our Institutional business has the largest market share in that segment of the market and consistently tops the Peter Lee Associates customer satisfaction surveys. And ANZ is New Zealand’s largest commercial and agri lender and has been named ‘CANSTAR Best Agribusiness Bank’ for each of the past four years under Graham’s leadership.”

Mr Hisco said he was also taking the opportunity to promote the bank’s Head of Digital and Transformation, Liz Maguire, to his New Zealand Leadership Team. Ms Maguire would continue with her current role plus assist him manage Asia Retail banking and the Pacific.

“Liz Maguire has been involved in a number of business critical and successful initiatives in New Zealand, including our recent brand and systems merger and our digital wallet project, and will bring added capability to my leadership team.”
The appointments of Mr Goodwin, Mr Hiddleston and Ms Maguire are all subject to no objections from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.
