Farmers elect new Central South Island farmer director onto Beef + Lamb New Zealand

Farmers in the Central South Island have elected Cave farmer, Bill Wright as their farmer director on the boards of Beef + Lamb New Zealand and the New Zealand Meat Board.

The election was contested by Timaru farmer, John Gregan.

Electionz.com who conducted the election said 3,806 votes were cast for John Gregan and 6,369 were cast for Bill Wright. Those who voted represented about 32 per cent of sheep, 38 per cent of dairy and 32 per cent of beef livestock numbers in the district.

Bill Wright replaces retiring Central South Island director Anne Munro who served two three year terms on the Beef + Lamb New Zealand and New Zealand Meat Boards.
