Halifax New Zealand announce appointment of two new Directors

Halifax New Zealand CEO Andrew Gibbs today announced the appointment of Vincent McCartney and Chris Weir as Non-Executive Directors.

“The global financial markets and governance experience that Vincent and Chris bring will be invaluable to Halifax New Zealand this year as we aggressively expand our service,” says Mr Gibbs.

“Vincent’s margin trading, product development and wholesale business development experience will help us grow our product offering and business streams, whilst Chris’ extensive governance experience will be key in ensuring there is independent oversight of the direction of the business.”

Mr McCartney holds qualifications in business and derivatives and worked at CMC Markets for 10 years in London, Sydney and Auckland developing new financial trading products, selling wholesale trading solutions to banks and setting up new divisions. He is also Managing Director of Verifi Identity Services Limited.

Mr Weir holds qualifications in law and business and has worked offshore for some 30 years as a fund manager and investment banker in Asia, The Middle East and Europe. Since returning to New Zealand in 2010 he has been appointed an Independent Non Executive Director of Sealegs Corporation Limited, which is listed on the NZX, and St George’s Cancer Institute. He is also a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.

Based in Auckland, Halifax New Zealand offer margin FX, CFDs, shares and options trading to traders of all levels of experience. This includes self-directed on-line trading, full service broking and automated trading.
