Auckland Conventions responds

Auckland Conventions responds to North Shore’s business community

Auckland Conventions Venues & Events has launched a Daily Delegates package in response to demand from North Shore businesses. The package will be available at both Albany’s QBE Stadium and the Takapuna-based Bruce Mason Centre.

“Over 2014/15 we saw a large rise in ‘one-day meetings’, clearly demonstrating to us the need for daily delegates’ packages tailored to suit different meetings’ formats,” says Auckland Conventions Director Mohamed Mansour.

“Our team also received increased enquiries from local businesses asking if we would be able to provide them with a venue for a day.

“We’re excited to now launch this package. With free WiFi, the room hire, refreshments, lunch and free parking (at QBE Stadium), this presents a fantastic opportunity for organisations and business leaders wanting to hold off-site meetings.”

Mr Mansour adds that Auckland Conventions’ Event Coordinators and Operations team staff members are always on hand to help plan and set up an event on the day. They can assist with anything from arranging techinical support and organising floorplans and room layouts, through to helping a client get the most out of their budget.

“We have found having this added support and expertise helps clients set up their meeting more efficiently – kick-starting it all sooner. They don’t have to spend time time sorting out things like setting up PowerPoint presentations, filling up water jugs, and so on.

“If our clients have a busy day ahead of them, having the ability to help streamline set-ups ensures that it doesn’t cut into their valuable time over the course of the day.”

Mr Mansour adds, “Team Leader Event Coordination Martin Avard will help manage the planning of any event, while Event Coordinators Katie Flood and Lucy Prior will provide further support. Brian Goonesekera, as our Operations Team Leader, will ensure the event runs smoothly on the day.”

Auckland Conventions offers 18 spaces of varying sizes across the Bruce Mason Centre and QBE Stadium Function Centre.

“Bruce Mason Centre’s convenient location near Takapuna beach offers a relaxed atmosphere with it’s ‘beachfront’ ambience and natural light to clients, while QBE Stadium provides many different size rooms, floor to ceiling windows, and 1,200 free parking spaces,” says Mr Mansour.

The organisation’s Auckland-wide portfolio also holds New Zealand’s largest variety of venues within the events sector, enabling clients to choose from nine world-class venues and facilities.

“As part of Regional Facilities Auckland (RFA), Auckland Conventions has the ability to provide all of these venues and their offerings under one umbrella,” says Mr Mansour.

The venues include the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre on the Viaduct Harbour, the CBD-based venues Aotea Centre, Auckland Town Hall, Auckland Art Gallery, and The Civic, Auckland Zoo, Mt Smart Stadium, QBE Stadium Function Centre, and the Bruce Mason Centre.
