Wild Strait signs Microsoft Visual Studio Partner Agreement

Wild Strait signs Microsoft Visual Studio Industry Partner agreement

Newly launched software performance company Wild Strait has signed an ‘Alliance level’ Visual Studio Industry Partner (VSIP) agreement with Microsoft.

Microsoft VSIPs are recognised experts who use Visual Studio's extensible framework to create innovative products and solutions to cater for specialised needs.

Wild Strait has a rich pedigree with Visual Studio and performance testing. The company was launched in October last year by Equinox IT, Microsoft New Zealand’s only Gold Partner for the Application Lifecycle Management competency (the competency that relates to Visual Studio).

Wild Strait have created a world-first software performance product Wild Strait Performance Intelligence, which extends Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise to substantially reduce the performance test cycle time and associated costs with performance testing.

Since its launch, the company has actively pursued growth in New Zealand for the product as well as specialist performance testing services. The company is also accelerating its international growth plans for the Wild Strait Performance Intelligence product.

Commenting on Wild Strait’s new status Nigel Parker, Microsoft New Zealand’s Director of Developer Experience, said, “The Wild Strait Performance Intelligence product opens up new opportunities for us and our customers, extending Visual Studio’s use to include the performance testing of complex, cross-platform, software applications that are developed in short-cycle Agile and DevOps environments.”

“We have a long history working with the Equinox IT team as a Microsoft Gold Partner and we are very pleased to now welcome Wild Strait as a Visual Studio Industry Partner,” says Parker.

Wild Strait General Manager Shane Ross further stated, “The Microsoft Visual Studio relationship allows us to rapidly respond to the needs of our clients, such as the increasing demand for performance testing in continuous delivery or DevOps environments, without needing to reinvent base functionality.”

“Visual Studio is a popular platform and immediately makes our product relevant to large segment of the market, yet at the same time able to be used to performance test a broad range of technologies. To date Wild Strait Performance Intelligence has mostly been used to test complex Java applications, despite the fact that runs on a Microsoft platform.

“We’re excited to become a Visual Studio Industry Partner and we look forward to the continued innovation we will deliver on this platform,” says Ross.

Wild Strait, Equinox IT and Microsoft also recently teamed up to deliver the Application Innovation Day events in Wellington and Auckland. The free one-day events were oversubscribed and shared the latest thinking and advances in Agile software development, DevOps and the Visual Studio product.
