Soltius celebrates 20th anniversary

Soltius celebrates 20th anniversary

Auckland 24 May 2016 – Enterprise systems specialist Soltius, New Zealand’s only Gold SAP Partner, celebrates its 20th birthday this month and CEO Nick Mulcahy says the company’s success is as much to do with staff attitude as it is technical expertise.

Mulcahy says that although SAP technical expertise has always been critically important to the business, that knowledge alone was never a guarantee of success.

“Our unparalleled knowledge of SAP and its peripherals, coupled with a team of incredibly skilled professionals, means we’ve been able to build a customer track record that’s second-to-none. However, our success is not just due to the technical skill of our people – it’s been as much about their attitude and their consistent approach to bringing commitment, integrity and respect to all their work,” says Mulcahy.

Originally set up as a small “body shop” subsidiary of US-based Intelligroup in 1996, Soltius changed its name in 2006, not long after a management buy-out in 2005. In the years since that management buy-out, the company has consistently grown in size and scope. The efforts of the Soltius team have not gone unnoticed – even back in the early days of local ownership it was winning awards such as SAP Best Practices Award for Most Projects in 2005 (ANZ Hub) and Highest Performing All-in-One Channel Partner – New Zealand 2005.

That winning streak has continued unabated and in more recent years recognition for Soltius’ technical skills and partnership approach include:

Mulcahy says because of the highly skilled nature of their work and market competition for talent, the company has always maintained a keen focus on making Soltius a great place to work.

“I don’t mean that in a trendy, let’s be fashionable and talk about staff well-being this week — there’s far too much of that about. I mean it as in a bedrock of our company culture. It’s about the steady week-in, week-out efforts and actions to ensure that Soltius is a place where we all want to come to work and do great things for our clients,” says Mulcahy.

The consistency of this effort has been publicly acknowledged with Soltius a finalist in the Kenexa Best Workplaces in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Prior to that Soltius was also a finalist in the JRA Best Places to Work in 2011.

Mulcahy says this approach pays off because it creates a culture of long-term behaviour of doing what is best for the client and their organisation.
“We’ve always been about helping solve our client’s biggest problems, and continue on this mission today as we branch out into new areas. Our recent partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build our own Cloud Platform business-line, as well as the addition of a specialist SAP testing practice to our portfolio, are examples of this.”

“We’re delighted to be celebrating 20 years of success as a local, home-grown business. As New Zealand’s leading SAP provider, we’re proud to work with many of New Zealand’s leading organisations to deliver real business value via great IT solutions,” says Mulcahy.
