Figured wins NZ Hi Tech Start Up Company of the Year Award

Figured wins NZ Hi Tech Start Up Company of the Year Award 2016

Figured Ltd took home the New Zealand Venture Investment Fund Hi Tech Start Up Company of the Year award at the 2016 awards gala on 21 May.

Figured is cloud-based farm management accounting software that works hand in hand with Xero. It is the only farm accounting tool available that gives the farmer, accountant and banker access to the same set of real-time data.

“At Figured, we’re passionate about improving the profitability of the agri sector in New Zealand.

The primary sector represents 78% of GDP for the country, so if we can use technology to help lift profitability even by just 5%, then that has a huge impact not just on farming businesses and our rural communities, but the country’s economy as a whole,” says Figured Head of Rural, Sophie Stanley.

“To do this we have an built an incredible team with the ideal blend of technology expertise, accounting knowledge and on-farm experience, which enables us to deliver a world class tech solution straight to the farm gate. By partnering with innovative companies in the sector, including Xero and leading banks ASB and BNZ, we can bring the benefits of realtime financial data into meaningful farm language – which is a game changer for the sector,” Stanley explains.

The NZ Hi Tech Awards celebrate New Zealand’s most successful high-tech companies and highest achieving individuals. “We were honoured to stand as finalists alongside other impressive kiwi tech companies in the start-up category, and inspired to be in the company so many successful New Zealand businesses. To be recognised as a business that is contributing to the success of the New Zealand tech sector - and agri-tech in particular - in the global marketplace is something that we are very proud of”, says Figured CEO, Paul Reid.

Figured are delighted to have received recognition for the strong proposition of the software and the hard work that the team has put in to get here - but of course acknowledge that they haven’t done it alone.

“As any start-up knows, the journey is not without its challenges, and we wouldn’t have achieved what we have without the support of businesses who are also committed to the success of agribusiness in New Zealand” Paul says. “We would like to acknowledge our customers, shareholders, accounting partners, banking partners - ASB and BNZ - and accounting software provider, Xero, for believing in us and supporting our growth and success.”

“With an incredible team that continues to grow, we are focused on the future and the continued development of a world-class tech solution for New Zealand, Australia and beyond.”
