THE GREEN LIVING SHOW OFFERS SOMETHING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

The Green Living Show, taking place this weekend at ASB Showgrounds, is giving Aucklanders the chance to explore healthier lifestyle choices for themselves and their families.

Auckland, Monday 27th June 2016

For those looking to make healthy choices for the wellbeing of their whole family, they need look no further than The Green Living Show at the ASB Showgrounds this weekend. The show offers something for everyone from inspiration on how to nourish the mind and body, to sustainable choices for energy efficient homes.

An extensive seminar programme is a key feature of The Green Living Show, with speakers addressing topics concerning the whole family. Learn how to make a raw orange Crème Brûlée, that even the kids will love from Angeleen Lewers or how to make nourishing healthy food affordably that also tastes amazing from Tracey Bennett, wholefood chef; Family addicted to sugar? Jenny Bates will talk about sugar overload and how it affects health and can contribute to cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular problems; Hear Pesticide spokesperson for the Greens, Steffan Browning, speak about why Auckland Council must change its pro-glyphosate stance to ensure our streets, playgrounds and parks remain safe and ‘spray-free’; Paul Waddell will share simple ways to live more safely in a high tech world and Dr Shane West will discuss how to create a healthy house by lowering relative humidity in your home. Seminars are included in the ticket price, but people should reserve their place to avoid disappointment on the day. This year The Green Living Show is also offering an especially positive and healthy helping hand to women with Be Fit Auckland. This special part of the Expo will showcase functional and empowering solutions to wellness for women to inspire and encourage profound changes in the ways women eat, move and think, and how they can become smarter, stronger and happier through clean living. Be Fit Auckland celebrates ‘Fit’ as the new skinny, with a focus on achievable goals, for not only a strong and healthy body, but also a healthy mind. A number of experienced coaches will be sharing their passion and experience to support self-awareness, self-healing and sustainable behaviour change.

A unique feature of Be Fit Auckland is the FitCamp, with free Pop-Up Classes. Visitors will get the chance to be involved in and experience something new. From high intensity combat sports in the ‘Fighting Fit Workout’ with Hummer Fitness and Health, to the gentle rhythmic movements and postures in the ‘De-Stress and Revitalise’ qigong routine by Kim Knight, there is bound to be something new for all to try. The FitCamp is free with show entry, but places are limited, so people are recommended to book their spot today: http://www.organicexpo.co.nz/seminar-registration/

This year exhibitors have been handpicked for their innovation, passion and commitment to green living. For example, for the first time at The Green Living Show, Autolink will bring their preloved Nissan Leaf range that makes owning a zero emission 100% electric car a reality for your family. Mitsubishi will bring their revolutionary SUV, the Outlander Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle, which rolls a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric car into one very stylish and practical SUV. Those looking to improve the energy performance of their home will find a number of exciting products, including solar panels to reduce or eliminate electricity costs, home ventilation systems for both health and energy savings and rainwater collection systems.
