Seasoned Financial Executive Joins ISPE
(Bethesda, Maryland USA – 1 July 2016) The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) announced today that it has hired Mark Hernick, CAE, as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration. Effective 5 July 2016, Hernick takes the administrative and financial helm at ISPE with extensive competencies in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.

His broad based experience and his desire for continued education have earned him the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation which will be a tremendous benefit to ISPE’s future success.”
Hernick is a seasoned financial executive with over 20 years’ experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. He comes to ISPE from the American Geophysical Union (AGU) where he served as the CFO for more than seven years, and was directly responsible for safeguarding the organization’s $100m in assets. During his tenure at the AGU, Mark led a $30m building renovation project and served as executive liaison to the Board of Governors on all financial and legal matters. Prior to the AGU, Mark served as VP of Operations and Director of Finance at the American Land Title Association, where his responsibilities included oversight of finance, human resources, and IT, as well as marketing and membership.

Mark Hernick holds a Master of Financial Management and Bachelor of Accounting, both from the University of Maryland University College. He became a member of the Maryland Society of Accountants in 1991, and is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives where he earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2014.
