New Zealand tech company secures contract to supply leading technology to nearly 3000 Speedway stores across the United States

Invenco, a global leader in self-service payment technology, announced today that it has secured a cornerstone contract through its partner NCR to supply NCR branded OPTIC self-service outdoor payment terminals to U.S. based fuel and convenience store retailer, Speedway. Speedway is the second largest self-service convenience retailer in the United States with 2,770 stores spanning 22 states, and is the latest high profile petroleum retailer to see the benefit in the New Zealand-engineered technology.

Invenco continues to provide leadership in the outdoor self-service payment space, pioneering cost effective and intuitive solutions from their international headquarters in Auckland. CEO Gavin Lennox says “The contract with Speedway represents another win through our OEM partner NCR, placing New Zealand squarely at the forefront of self-service payment technologies.”

Off the back of being ranked seventh on the TIN 100 Technology Companies to Watch list in 2015, Invenco is poised to see monumental growth, adding additional jobs for kiwis as a result of the Speedway contract and with local research and design offices, that’s great news for the economy.

The Invenco designed and engineered NCR OPTIC outdoor payment terminal is a modular, self-service solution that includes in its standard configuration an EMV-ready device with a touch screen, contactless reader (including mobile phones), 2D barcode scanner and mag stripe reader. Invenco offers the OPTIC in two sizes, a smaller 5” terminal which is packed with features for use with space constrained fuel pump dispensers, and an ultra-sharp 12” widescreen: one of the biggest, brightest and most powerful retrofit options on the market today. The open technology platform allows customers complete customisation of loyalty programmes and purchase-at- pump applications to drive increased efficiencies at the forecourt.
