Certus Appoints Respected HR Executive as GM of People and Performance

16 August, 2016 – Certus Solutions, a leading IBM systems integrator in the region, today announced the appointment Rachel Wells as General Manager, People and Performance for Certus in Australia and New Zealand. This is a senior appointment that will support and contribute to the growth and strategic direction of Certus by providing overall leadership and management of the human resources functions.

In this newly created executive position, Rachel will be tasked with strategically and operationally bringing Certus’ culture and leadership programme to life. Reporting directly to the CEO with accountability to the board, Rachel will be responsible for all HR functions and working with the company’s senior leadership team to achieve an alignment between organisational strategy, culture and people capability and capacity. Rachel will be based at Certus’ Wellington offices.

Rachel has experience developing and leading high performing teams, and developing and implementing HR strategies that impact and enable business performance. She has a depth of experience in generalist human resources (strategic and operational), organisational development, cultural transformation, strategic change management, learning and development, industrial and employment relations, environment, sustainability, health and safety, and corporate social responsibility across Australia, New Zealand, France and Italy.

Most recently Rachel was Director HR, Strategic Change for Ministry of Social Development where she led the Strategic Change portfolio across the Ministry, designing, developing and delivering an enterprise wide Change Management methodology. Prior to this she has held a range of high profile positions with organisations such as Transpower, Wellington City Council and Meridian Energy.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Certus at such an exciting time for the company and bring to the role 16 years’ experience of leading high performing HR functions across diverse industries including FMCG, manufacturing, technology, telecoms, energy and freight,” said Rachel Wells, General Manager, People and Performance for Certus Australia and New Zealand.

When she is not working Rachel is a self-confessed fitness fanatic! She is currently training for the Taupo Ironman and is a proud mum to a ten year old daughter and three year old twin boys.
