Leading the strong result were Jono & Ben, The Graham Norton Show and 7 Days, once again crowned champions to the start of the weekend, winning their timeslots among viewers aged 25-54, 18-39 and 18-49.

The continuous performance of these programmes was marked by another highlight, with Friday night seeing hit comedy panel programme 7 Days mark its seventh anniversary on-air with a special episode.

Weeknights at 7pm, TV3’s current affairs programme Story (Mon-Thur) has continued to grow its audience since launch - showing growth in its target demographic of viewers aged 25-54, as well as all viewers (5+).

From 2015 to July 2016, in its target demographic of viewers aged 25-54, the show has increased its total weekly audience from 369,800 to 396,200.

Against the competition, in 25-54 the margin of total weekly viewers (Mon-Thur) has shrunk from 107,300 in 2015 to 30,200 in July 2016. The show has been particularly successful with younger viewers, consistently drawing a higher audience amongst 18-39 year olds.
